The Lower and Upper Elementary programs are celebrating Right to Read Week this week. Here is a list of activities for each level.
LE – Come dressed like your favorite book character, if you like. Prepare three written clues to share with everyone about your character.
UE – Read a t-shirt day! Wear your favorite t-shirt with writing on it!
LE – Wear your pajamas to school and bring your favorite book to share with a friend. It is also “Drop Everything and Read” Day!
UE – “Drop Everything and Read” Day (D.E.A.R)
LE – Read a T-shirt Day! Wear your favorite t-shirt with words on it.
UE – Author’s Chair! You can read all of your favorite Writers Workshop stories to the class. It is also another “Drop Everything and Read” Day!
LE – Special class story time with a yummy snack!
UE – Dress like your favorite book character, and write down three different clues to tell your classmates for them to guess. (You may bring your costume to school, or wear it to school. It is also another “D.E.A.R“ Day!
LE – Reader’s Theater presentation by the Lower Elementary Teachers!
UE – Improv skits (Working in groups, you will be given a skit starter, a list of characters, and a prop to include in your skit. You will have 10-15 minutes to put together your skit). It is also another “D.E.A.R“ Day!
