Kids on the Block, a puppeteer group, visited the Lower Elementary classrooms this past week. Each large, hand-crafted puppet represented a child with a disability. Disabilities included the blind, deaf, physically disabled, learning disabled, and Down’s Syndrome. After viewing the presentation of scripted dialog between puppet characters, children were given the opportunity to ask specific questions. Students learned that every person is important and accepting others differences will help create a more peaceful world. This entry was posted in Bluebird, Cardinal, Goldfinch. Bookmark the permalink.
