Exploring the Earthworm
Today in Karner Blue, the 4th-level students continued their exploration of the earthworm by taking a look at its internal organs. Students were able to locate and identify key organs, such as the hearts, crop, gizzard, seminal vesicles, intestine, dorsal blood vessel and more. The inside of an earthworm was more complex than many students anticipated. However, when it is compared with the internal structure of the bullfrog coming up soon, the earthworm’s interior will seem like a much simpler system.
