Welcome to Children’s House (Emerald Room and Sapphire Room)!
“Welcome” to our new friends and “Welcome Back” to our returning friends!
Let us begin by introducing ourselves and our classroom. We are your child’s teachers. Our names are Jennifer Miller, Tricia Miller-Purvis, Stephanie Sullivan, and Ruth Zajac. We are very excited to start the new year! A little about us…
Jenni is beginning her fifth year teaching at West Side and has taught a total of 12 years. She graduated from Wittenberg University with her degree in Early Childhood Education. She returned to school at Lourdes University and obtained her 4th and 5th grade Endorsement. Jenni completed her Montessori Training at Seton Montessori Institute in Clarendon Hills, Illinois.
Tricia is beginning her 16th year teaching at West Side. She graduated from Bowling Green State University with her degree in Elementary Education. Tricia completed her Montessori Training at Adrian Dominican Montessori Teacher Education Institute (ADMTEI) and continued on to get her Master’s in a Montessori Education in Adrian, MI.
Stephanie is beginning her third year teaching at West Side and has taught a total of 16 years. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Psychology. Stephanie completed her Montessori Training at Adrian Dominican Montessori Teacher Education Institute (ADMTEI) in Adrian, MI.
Ruth is beginning her ninth year teaching at West Side and has taught a total of 15 years. She graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology in Ireland with a certificate in Pre-School Education. She then continued her education at the National University of Ireland with a degree in History and Physical Geography. Ruth completed her Montessori Training at the Association Montessori Internationale Montessori College in Dublin, Ireland.
Our Children’s House classroom is made up of the Emerald and Sapphire rooms. The Emerald Room holds the Language, Science, Geography, Art, and Fine Motor areas of the Montessori classroom. The Sapphire Room holds the Math, Practical Life (including snack), Peace, and Sensorial areas. All four teachers observe, assess, collaborate, and prepare the environments within each room.
We’re delighted to have met our new friends and are looking forward to greeting our returning friends next week! Cheers to a happy and healthy 2014-2015 school year!
