Leadership: "I serve on accreditation teams for the American Montessori Society. This involves travel and working with other team members from all over the country. We all come together to read the visiting school's self-study report, observe in classrooms, conduct interviews and co-write the team report that is submitted to the American Montessori Society. I have also served as an instructor for adults going through Montessori training in Columbus."
What Kathy loves about the Montessori Method: "I love that Montessori utilizes hands-on materials. Children are not asked to memorize facts but rather use the materials to truly explore and learn the why. These materials transition with the children from level to level until the child is ready to work without their aid. To me, this truly recognizes the developmentally needs of each child."
"I love working at West Side because my co-workers are part of my family. We truly care about each other and will support someone in need in a heartbeat; no questions asked. I feel so fortunate to work with such a group of people that truly care about each other."
West Side Montessori is an independent, accredited Montessori school educating children 13 months through 8th grade (preschool, kindergarten, elementary school and middle school). We are one of the leading private schools in Toledo, and the nation.
