K'Dubbers in Scotland
The grandmother, Jennifer, and aunt, Mhairi, of a third level Bluebird student, Isla Cushing, are walking their K'Dub half-marathon miles in the picturesque village of Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders, about 30 miles from Edinburgh.
Isla’s Granny & Auntie Mhairi have been walking many of their miles along the River Tweed which runs through the valley in which the village sits. They have also walked across the Cuddy Bridge, which was built in 1701, to cross a smaller stream called the Leithen Water. The village of ‘Innerleithen' gets its name because it sits at the point where the Leithen meets the Tweed. Inner- or Inver- is common in Scottish place-names and refers to the meeting of two rivers. They also enjoy saying "hello" to the dairy cows on their walks.
