For those of you who missed it the first time, we are pleased to be able to offer another showing of the documentary Race to Nowhere. The film looks at the pressure on today’s students, whose lives are filled with activities and high achievement expectations. The movie will be shown at the Bancroft Campus on Tuesday, April 24. Child care will be provided for all ages at McCord Campus, but RSVPs are necessary. Please RSVP with the number of adults and number of children attending to Dawn Weating,ZHdlYXRpbmdAd3NtY3RvbGVkby5vcmc=, by April 20. Free pizza (for parents and children) will be available at 5:30 pm and the film will begin at 6:00 pm.
If you know of others outside the immediate WSM community who would have an interest in exploring the tragic side of our often achievement-obsessed culture, let them know – the showing is free and open to the public.
To learn more about the film follow West Side Montessori on Facebook. We have posted many informational links on the WSM Facebook page. Leave your comments – we would love to hear your thoughts on this critical issue. Another great resource is the Race to Nowhere web site, www.racetonowhere.com.
