Welcome to the new school year and the united Toledo Campus. As you can clearly see, we have work left to do to finish the entrance, parking lots, and, ultimately significant road work to accomplish. At the moment we are waiting for three utility companies to finish moving their wiring from the old utility poles to new ones. Once that happens, the road-widening project can begin. Long term there will be a turn lane coming from the east and a deceleration lane coming from the west, as well as a new boulevard entrance that lines up opposite Apsley Rd. When complete, new school-zone flashers will be activated.
In the meantime, we will start out with extra staffing at carline times to help direct carline traffic. Each family has a family number and will be given carline maps, carline instructions, and family cards to place in their windows during carline to facilitate the process. Parents are also welcome to park and walk up to the school. Parents who walk up to the East building for pick-up need to have their family cards in-hand. The East parking lot is exclusively for parents and visitors. The West parking lot will have spaces available for parents and visitors. Extra sets of Instructions for arrival and dismissal at both Bancroft West and Bancroft East are available in the West Lobby. [Click here for a map.]
If you do not receive your family’s carline cards, maps, and instructions at your child’s interview or classroom luncheon, please ask for them at the front desk in the West Lobby during or after scheduled open houses.
We are aware that the existing entrance will be a bottleneck and that crossover points in the internal traffic rotation will require patience and courtesy, especially since the top coat of blacktop and striping are yet to come. If you are typically in a hurry, please arrive at the beginning of the designated carline periods. We anticipate tweaking the carline process as the year progresses. Your feedback is welcome.
