Kindergarten Students Create Public Art
This fall, Perrysburg campus kindergartners created a public art project.
Using an upcycled door, they created individual paintings of flowers on one side. On the other side is a group painting of monarchs in different stages of their lifecycle and the milkweed plants the insects depend on. Resident artist Lee Fearnside cut windows into the door to allow the students to connect the landscape of the natural playground with the paintings on the door.
The artist in residence program at West Side Perrysburg is made possible in part by state tax dollars allocated by the Ohio Legislature to the Ohio Arts Council (OAC). The OAC is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally, and economically.
