Middle School Power of the Pen Team #1 in the Region!
Congratulations to Middle School teacher Mary Brandon and her Power of the Pen (POP) team!
The POP team was one of thirty-seven Northwest Ohio middle school and high school teams competing in the regional tournament.
The seventh-grade team took home first place and the eighth-grade team took third place in the region. WSM's entire POP team won the Regional Sweepstakes Award by scoring the most cumulative points in the competition! Eighth-grade student Liz Treat also won a Platinum Pen Award for her essay, "Hooves."
Five WSM students qualified for the state tournament to be hosted at Otterbein University in May:
