I fell in love with West Side 30 + years ago! I obtained my Bachelors from Bowling Green State University and completed my Montessori Infant/Toddler Certification from Meca/Seton Montessori in Chicago, IL. I have a son Bryant (30) and a daughter Kylie (27) who both attended West Side. I am also blessed to have a 6-year- old grandson who attends West Side. I have truly grown up here! Outside of school I enjoy long walks, bike rides and spending time with my family

"The greatest gift we can give our children are the roots
of responsibility and the wings of independence.”

Independence; from hanging up their belongings, to dressing themselves, to making their own work choices throughout the classroom. Allowing them the gift of time to be independent. Toddlers love to discover and do things for themselves and are highly capable and competent individuals, capable of actively engaging in their own learning and development.

Montessori equips the child for everyday life. Giving them practical life skills gives them purpose and enables them to be a contributing member of their family, community and classroom. Montessori sees the child not just as a miniature person, but as an able-bodied and capable person.

West Side is truly a family. From our tiniest toddlers to our big middle schoolers, the love, support and respect shown is just amazing! I am so happy to be a part of this family for so long.
