A Look at Our Upper Elementary Independent Investigations

Our Upper Elementary students have been hard at work, diving deep into fascinating topics as part of their Independent Investigations.
This hands-on project is a perfect example of Montessori's emphasis on student-driven learning, critical thinking, and the development of presentation skills.

From investigating animals in the fourth grade to exploring presidents and space discoveries in fifth and sixth grades, students take ownership of their learning, researching, organizing, and presenting their findings. They gather information from books and reliable sources, create visual aids, and practice their speeches—demonstrating both independence and collaboration with teachers and peers.

The final presentations were nothing short of inspiring! Our students not only showcased their hard work but also honed important life skills—like public speaking and professional presentation—by dressing to impress and presenting to families.

We’re so proud of their dedication and growth, and we're excited to share this celebration of learning with you during Montessori Education Week!
