Kira Aviña

Kira came to West Side Montessori for her first year of preschool, where she started laying the foundation for her years of exploration and growth.
Throughout her time at West Side, she embraced a wide range of activities—playing soccer, softball, volleyball, and basketball, while also developing her artistic side through drumming and dance, which she continues to pursue today.

Among her favorite experiences, Kira found joy in art, especially throwing on the wheel, as well as the unforgettable New York trip. She appreciates the unique opportunities that West Side provides—opportunities that many other schools might not be able to offer. Her Montessori education has not only prepared her academically for high school but also given her the chance to deepen connections with longtime friends.

As she looks ahead, Kira hopes to attend St. Ursula Academy or Wauseon, where she plans to graduate, possibly take dance to a competitive level, and build new friendships. After high school, her aspirations are simple yet profound—she wants to be successful and happy, and she’s open to wherever life leads her.

Her advice for younger students? Never give up. Keep pushing forward and strive for what you want. Reflecting on her time at West Side, Kira values the friendships she has made along the way, recognizing how each person has shaped and influenced her into the person she is today.
